can’t login to back end of website with correct username and email

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
When I try to login to the back end of my website (learning, so not sure if this is the correct terminology) to change the theme and set up the site, WordPress is telling me that I’m using an incorrect user login even though I have tried both the correct username and email (at least that I’m aware of). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi purplecivet,

purplecivet.com is a WordPress.org site hosted by Bluehost, rather than WordPress.com. The differences between the two are explained here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

The Jetpack plugin you installed creates a connection between purplecivet.com and your WordPress.com account, which means it can be edited through your account here.

Therefore you have two sets of login information:

    1. Login details for your WordPress.com account
    2. Login details for your user account on purplecivet.com

Are you seeing an error when logging in at http://purplecivet.com/wp-admin?
