Can’t map files directly to a domain rather than a wordpress account

Before I explain, I searched about my problem and there was a topic about it. However, it was closed and not resolved. (The topic can be found at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=14235&replies=8#post-103591)
This is mainly a problem of aesthetics, but it’s kind of irritating me. First, are you able to directly upload data (like .jpgs, etc) into your blog without having to create a post/page for them? Secondly, how can I make uploaded data reference my domain rather than the WordPress full address?
For example…
Say I have a domain titled example.com, and it’s mapped to example.wordpress.com. The domain mapping and everything is fine and working perfectly. Now, I upload an image titled example.jpg, however, the image’s properties are directed to example.wordpress.com/…/example.jpg, and not example.com/…/example.jpg. Is there a way to make the URL appear on the domain instead?

1) Yes. Easily. When you insert the image in a post, do not choose “link to page.” Images will not display, of course, unless they’re put into a post or someone types the URL directly into the browser bar.
2) You cannot. I asked staff, and they said all files hosted here will always have a .wordpress.com address, no matter how long you’ve had domain mapping.
