cant recover account need to to dispute charges

  I need to recover my account so i can stop being charged and get refunded – the email attached is one i no longer have access to so i can’t reset my password it says the transaction id isnt valid when i try and gain access via the account recovery form. I really need to speak to a person the AI assisant is no help.

  I’m sorry you’re dealing with that — especially when you’re being charged but can’t access the account or recovery email.If the transaction ID is being rejected in the recovery form, a few common causes are:

  – the ID was entered with formatting/spaces incorrectly,

  – it’s from a bank statement rather than the actual WordPress.com receipt,

  – the payment was made through PayPal/Apple/Google instead of directly,- or the charge is attached to a different WordPress.com account than expected.

  Since you no longer have access to the original email, the best thing you can do is gather as much ownership proof as possible before staff review. Helpful details include:

  – last 4 digits of the card charged,

  – exact charge amounts and dates,

  – billing name/address,

  – old usernames or site URLs,- PayPal transaction IDs if applicable,- screenshots of the charges from your bank statement.

  I would also recommend replying directly to any existing support emails/tickets if you have one, because replies usually stay attached to the same case and increase the chance of human review.

  Unfortunately forum volunteers and the AI assistant cannot manually recover accounts or process refunds themselves, but staff can usually help once sufficient billing ownership is verified.If the charges are continuing and you cannot access the account at all, you may also want to contact your bank/card provider to prevent additional renewals while the recovery request is being reviewed.
