Can't remove jetpack from expired self hosted blog

  • Unknown's avatar

Emails galore from jetpack about the site being up and down about the specified blog which I don’t control anymore (neither domain nor host because i let it expire). I tried going into my sites but even though it shows 3, i can’t access any of them. Would like to remove jetpack for the blog specified because I am getting 5-6 emails per day with notification about blog being up and down.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hello there,

To check the site you need help with is: creativestoic.com ?

If yes, this site is not hosted with WordPress.com and so we are unable to assist. We’ll do our best to point you in the right direction.

This site is clearly have issues if it keeps going offline, you would need to ask to be removed or look to remove yourself from this site in order to stop receiving these emails.

Yes that’s what I’m saying. I don’t own the domain anymore or the hosting so I was wondering if there is a way to stop jetpack from sending me 12 emails a day saying site is down site is back up. I tried looking myself but I don’t see any options whatsoever to disable them

  • Hi there,

Our support page provides a guide on how to remove self-hosted WordPress site from your WordPress.com account:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/disconnect-jetpack-sites/

If you have any questions or trouble with the disconnection, let me know, and I’d be happy to assist with disconnecting the site on this end.

    Cheers,

Hi Darnell, the problem is i have no access to ftp, domain or host because I have let it expire. When I go to wordpress.com and try to view all sites it only shows me an old unrelated blog – there is no way to get to settings for that domain. Could please just disconnect it via your end? I’m not sure if this is a bug or not. I can see that the domain is just parked now (after letting it expire) and considered a premium domain over $2k value (lol). Anyway, the problem is I don’t own neither domain or hosting for it but I keep getting around 12-15 emails daily for the past week from jetpack saying it’s been down then back up. If you could just disconnect it from my account from your end that’d be great! Thanks

  • Hello there,

I’ve taken a look and it looks like Jetpack was monitoring the domain. I’ve disconnected this and you should no longer receive these emails.
