cant select a number as a category

  Hi WordPress, i can’t add a number as category anymore. as my blog categorization is partly build up using numbers this is pretty important. have been to do it the last few years, but now all the sudden i cannot. is this a temporary issue being fixed soon?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  i found out where the issue is. i am not able to select any number as a category in the new way off adding blogs. in the old fashioned way i am still able to select numbers as a category. would be great if this was of course possible in the new way to add content.

  Hi Edwin,

  I see what you mean. You can still enter numbers as categories for your posts, but the category dropdown in the new post editor won’t offer those existing categories as suggestions there.

  I’m checking with our team to find out more about why that’s happening, and I’ll let you know what I find out!

  Yikes, I just tested that again and I see that the category isn’t saved at all when it’s a number. Sorry about that! I’ll clarify that in my report to our developers so they can investigate that specific issue.

  Hi Edwin,

  Thanks for your patience with this issue! Our team just launched a fix for this, so you can now select numbers for both categories and tags in the new editor. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help.
