Can’t sign into my WordPress account.

    I don’t have the right password to sign into my Admin WordPress account. I am new to all of this. My host is Hostgator. I have a password for Hostgator that works for that. I bought a lifetime Divi Elegant Membership and have a password for that which works. I don’t have a password that works for WordPress Admin. I have done all the steps to reset my WordPress Admin password outlined the article by Colin Newcomer ‘How to Reset your WordPress Admin password. Nothing works!!! WordPress does not even recognize by email address. Please help!

    Hi @joycehollingsworth, sorry to hear it!

    We do need to clarify: WordPress.com (the service) is different from WordPress.org (the free software you installed at Hostgator.) If you tried logging into WordPress.com with the email address you used for your own copy of WordPress, it would tell you it doesn’t recognize the email, because our servers don’t have access to your login info on the Hostgator instance.

    Also, these forums are for the free managed sites that are hosted here at WordPress.com.

    You probably meant to post here, in the forums for self-managed WordPress sites:

    I’d recommend getting in touch with Hostgator, your service provider, for help working through one of those options. If you need more help, try creating an account and posting over at the WordPress.org forums.
