Can’t upload photo to media library

  When I try to upload a photo, I get: ‘Unable to create directory uploads/2020/01. Is its parent directory writable by the server?’ I do not know what these words mean. I text chatted with WP Help, who said they could test upload a photo to my site. Now what?

  From what you tell it looks your site is using the open source wordpress.org. To be sure, what is the URL of your site?
