Can’t upload video to home page

Hi, I am trying to put a video for my home page. There is currently a Vimeo video on it, in a section stating ‘Video ID (to display a video).’ My new video is on Youtube, so I took that video id and just pasted it in, but when previewing changes, it states ‘Oops! The embed code for this video is not valid.’ I have allowed access for the video to be embedded, and have tried posting the ID, as well as the link and even the embed code, all to no avail. Is there something that is preventing it from going in, or is there something I have to change to allow Youtube and not Vimeo? Thank you.

You need a different embed code for each service, and each video. Here are the instructions to get the YouTube version, which you can then apply on the page.

The first two sections of that page ^ discuss how you use an embed URL or shortcode.

Unfortunately, that link was of no help for me. Yes, I know I could insert and embed it on a line, but this is for a client, and they want to use a certain format, and this format places a video in a certain spot. I would send a picture, but it doesn’t seem like there is a spot to add pictures here unless I am missing something. Thanks.

What is the URL of the site you are referring to?
I do not see any sites connected to the account you are contacting us from. Is it a WordPress.com hosted site?
Are you using a video widget? There is currently a bug with the widget. The video widget does not currently accept Youtube and Vimeo links
Our developers already know about it and are working on a fix, but for now the only way to show Youtube videos in the widget area is to use the Youtube shortcode in a text widget instead:

The site is flagerlaw.com. Once you’re on the site, you will already see a video from Vimeo sitting there, I have been trying to replace that with a new Youtube video.

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with GoDaddy.
