Categories not updating

  I have a wordpress.com free blog and I recently updated my categories using the dashboard (re-ordered them into hierarchies). When I go to my blog, the old categories still exist, i.e the changes haven’t been implemented. What should I do? I’ve googled this and people seem to suggest emptying the cache widget, but I can’t find that on the .com version of wordpress. Thanks for the help!

  Hi,

  Can you give us, as an example, one subcategory and its parent category?

  A category or subcategory will only result in the creation of a Category Page, and will only display in the Categories Widget, when that category or subcategory is assigned to at least one post. Have you done that? If not, then this might explain the result you’re obtaining.
