Categories widget

I have the outspoken theme.
I would like a grid format on the frontpage. This is showed in the example of the outspoken theme.
I think Grid is the same as the widget catogories.
If I install the widget, it is displayed on my page but when I fill in the catogories (under widget) they do not appear on my side.
Any idea why his is not happening?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you take a screenshot of which part of the demo front page you want to replicate on your site? Upload the image to your Media Library.
