  I have to post categories, ‘NEWS’ and ‘EVENTS’ and my custom menu includes both.

  Just above the actual posts are the words ‘Category Archives’ then the name of the category.

  Is there any simple way to remove these words. They serve no purpose as the reader aleady knows which category they have selected.

  I am using the Mystique style sheet.

  You may want to check out the Custom Design upgrade. This allows you to hide unwanted elements, customize your theme, change layout and colors, and more. However, this does require at least some basic experience with CSS and HTML.
