Category Description

    I would like to organize my posts via categories. The problem is, the post describing the category is the first one I posted, so it is the last one shown.

    How can I have an introductory post for a category?

    As I understand, it is not implemented per se. So I tried to find a workaround. My Idea was to put the introductory post in the parent category and leaving the other posts in subcategories. Unfortunately, even if I deselect the parent category for a subcategory-post, it is shown within the parent category. Example:

    Post 1 is in these categories: [x] parent [x] child [x] grandchild.
    Post 2 is in this category: [ ] parent [ ] child [x] grandchild.
    When I select the “parent” category, Post 1 and Post 2 are shown, even if I purposely deselected “parent” for Post 2. Why?

    I thought about creating a page for every category description and subpages for individual entries. But this would mean creating a lot of pages and they would not appear as blog posts. Also, I would not be able to have several blogposts shown simultaneously.

    There really isn’t any way to do this at wordpress.com. Well, there is, but it would be extremely messy and require a ton of CSS coding (and I do mean a ton) and each time you added a new category, you would have to do another ton of CSS coding.

    Why not make a single page with headings and then the descriptions of the categories and you can even then link the category headings to the category pages?
