Category Visibility

I use woocommerce on my wordpress site. I have a new product category for my retail store that is in woocommerce. I made the update to make sure it’s properly checked under ‘product visibility’. However I don’t know how to update my website to include that category. I had a web developer that used to do that for me, but he ghosted me and now i’m stuck with not being able to update my retail store. can anyone out there help me with some tips?

  • Ah sorry to hear you lost your developer! These forums are for the free site hosted here at WordPress.com, and honestly WooCommerce isn’t my specialty, but the folks over here may be able to help:
    https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce

If you’re talking about the category list on the left, I am guessing it should appear for you once some products exist. If I sort the products by latest, I can see those products’ category comes up alright. But if that doesn’t work, check to be sure you’ve cleared any caches (your host can help) then post at the WooCommerce forum.

Alternatively, if you just want to hire a developer to handle this as a one-off project, we currently recommend Codable.

Hoping this helps! And for general WordPress help going forward, here is another forum for the free WordPress software that you’re using on your site. You can find that here:

    Cheers!

Thanks for the advice. I’ve done everything you mentioned above. Last time this happened, my weeb developer had to change something in “pages” or “appearance”, but i can’t figure out what it was. I’ll post in the other forum and keep researching.
