for your front page I appear to have a choice between a static page and my most recent posts. I was wondering/hoping if it is possible to set it so only a category of post appear on the front page rather than all of them. Thanks for helping.

You can’t set a category page for the front of the blog. Most people set a static page and then use Custom Menus to display whatever category pages they want.

I set up my site so the home page is a static page and my recent posts can all go on a separate “Blog” page. I need to set it up so that all posts marked as “Blogs”, rather than “Announcements” or “News” only post on the Blog page, and not the home page, and have all posts, regardless of category post on the Blog page.

I’ve downloaded and activated Ultimate Category Excluder and PE Category Filter but it seems they don’t work in this way. Is there another plugin that could help me with this, or another way of doing this?

I think I wasn’t clear back there. . . on my static home page I want all category posts to show up other than those categorized as “blog”. On the Blog page, I want all the categories to show up. So I only want to be able to exclude one category (“blog”) from my static home page.
