Category/Tag and another question

  Hi,

  I am very new to blogging, have just set up a thought blot http://zachisaiahchia.wordpress.com/. Have two questions which I can’t seem to find an answer for.

  Firstly, would like to ask, what is the exact different between categories and tags? Does it mean that even if I have a category but no tag, the blog would not show up on any search item?

  Secondly, I did a google search to see if I was able to find my blog, I typed in zachisaiahchia in the google search box, however it returned that there were no results. What does this mean?

  1. Categories should be the general subgroups of your posts, while tags (optional) should be more specific keywords related to the content of a particular post. For search engines, no difference.

  2. It will take days or weeks before Google or other search engines find your new blog.
