CHAME Record

    I bought a domain from name.com and I want to link it to my worldpress hosting. I’ve already created DNS records with the IP Address that worldpress gave me. Now I’m wondering if I need to add a CHAME record to my domain as well? If so, where can I get my CHAME record?

    Hi there,

    A CNAME is only used to point subdomains, not to point a domain itself.

    Just a note, though: WordPress is just the name of the software you’re using, and WordPress did not give you any IPs. Your hosting provider did, and for more help with this, you need to contact that hosting provider directly for help.

    Right now you’re posting in the support forums for WordPress.com, another hosting provider.
