Change a plan/cancel a domain name.

  Hi! I need to delete the website kannerrestaurant.com and I don’t need the domain name anymore. I know how to delete the site, but how can I cancel the domainname and the premium plan?

  I know I can cancel my plan via https://wordpress.com/me/purchases. However, that option doesn’t show. I am admin for the site.

  Hi there,

  You are an admin on that site, but you do not own the premium plan and the domain, kannerrestaurant.com, on the site. Those are owned by another admin, username, jessedemarie. Only that user can cancel those upgrades.

  Thanks! That was exactly what I was afraid of. That user is my son, and he doesn’t remember the email he registered with… Is there any way we can get rid of the plan, as he’s the owner of the site, but I’m the owner of the credit card :-( His school transferred the content of the site to their own site, and there is no use anymore for this site.

  Ask him to enter his username on the lost password form. That will send a password reset link to the correct email address, so if he still has access to the email address he should be able to receive that.

  Else he’ll need to verify ownership of the site using our account recovery form, as explained here:

  Recover Your Account

  As there are upgrades on that site a transaction ID from a past payment will be the easiest way to do that. Once he verifies ownership we’ll be able to tell him the correct email so he can reset the password, or we can update the email address on the account to an active one.

  The emailaddress it mentions is (email visible only to moderators and staff), but he doesn’t have access to that one. The current one he uses is (email visible only to moderators and staff).

  This is a public forum. Please do not post sensitive information like transaction IDs here, as anyone with an internet connection can find it and use it to claim access to your site.

  Please submit the account recovery form as I explained in my previous reply. We cannot help with this in the forums beyond giving you the information I’ve already provided.

  I did and I cannot sent it in, as I get an error: “We could not find an account that matches your login. Please check your spelling. Note that we can only provide support for WordPress.com accounts – do not use this page for your own WordPress.org blog.” I have selected “I don’t know my registered email or username”, and added the URL kannerrestaurant.wordpress.com. So, I cannot send the request.
