change back blog URL & user name

  I have changed the username and URL of my blog and realized that I made a mistake. Now when I’m trying to change them back, it says user already exists. What can be done?

  This is a very common problem. I’m going to flag this thread for staff to look into. They will need the username and domain you want and the username and domain you have now. Note that if you deleted the old URL you are probably, but not certainly, screwed. There’s a warning to that effect in the instructions, but it needs to be about ten feet tall in red because nobody ever notices it.

  Thanks, you gave me some hope. I need to change the username and URL from ghosttrainyvr back to stanleyparkghosttrain.
  The weird thing is that my old name still shows up in the upper right drop down menu on me homepage even after cleaning the cache.

  Clearing the cache may not be enough. Would you please try clearing your browser’s cookies too?
