Change blog address

I would like to change my .wordpress.com address from theoryofstudying.wordpress.com to studyphysics.wordpress.com or studyphysicsblog.wordpress.com. When I’ve tried changing these it says that this site has already been used but if you type in studyphysicsblog.wordpress.com into your search bar it comes as an inactive blog. I really want to use this blog address name, is there any way I can use it since the actual site it’s on at the moment is inactive and been disabled anyway? Thanks

The authors have deleted this site”.It all hinges on how long ago the site was deleted. This support document explains that sites must have been deleted for at least two years before there is a possibility of re-using a WordPress.com address.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/Another option would be to upgrade your existing site to a paid plan. That would give you a domain credit to use that address or something similar without the WordPress.com at the end.
