  Hi, I wanted to change the domain name. How do I do this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  You can change your blog address by going to My Blogs, and clicking the Change Blog Address link that appears when you hover over the address you want to change:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/

  Note that you have the option to choose your user name to match the new blog address. If you choose this option, you will not be able to revert back to the original username, and it can affect profile URLs for other services such as Gravatar or IntenseDebate.

  I just followed those instructions but now when I go to the new URL I get the message:

  Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.

  Everything looks fine in the global dashboard. Does it just take time for the new URL to take effect?
