Change my email address

  When I try to change the email address associated with my account I get the error message ‘There was a problem saving your changes.’.

  Help, anyone?

  Hi there,

  What email address are you trying to use with your account? (You can include it in your reply here and it will be hidden from everyone except staff.)

  Keep in mind that if the email address is already being used with a different WordPress.com account, you’ll need to choose another one. Email addresses can only be linked to one WordPress.com account at a time.

  Hey Rachel,

  Thanks for answering. I figured it out eventually, I didn’t realize I couldn’t have two wordpress sites on the same address.

  Anyway it would be nice to have a more informative error message than “There was a problem saving your changes” :)

  You’re welcome to have two WordPress.com sites linked to the same WordPress.com account, in which case they’ll be linked to the same email address. If you want to add another site to your account (without creating a new WordPress.com account) you can do that by logging in to your account and adding a second site here:

  https://signup.wordpress.com/start/

  Anyway it would be nice to have a more informative error message than “There was a problem saving your changes” :)

  So now I have two sites (one per email address).
  Is there a way to move one of them to under the other email address after the creation or is this final?

  Sure! You can move a site from one account to another following the steps in our guide for Transferring a Site to Another WordPress.com Account.
