Change of Account Ownership

Hi there, I’m taking over the maintenance and management of a website for a client, however when it was built all the ownership details were in the previous designers name, including the associated woo commerce account. Payment details have been updated but we would like to change the ownership and registered email address to my clients details/account. I understand usually the original owner can update this however as the site is using woo-commerce, we are unsure how to proceed. Can you please advise?

We’re limited in how we can help because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed business hosting. As a result we don’t have access to your server files, or the ability to take a closer look at your site.
The site host (Emedias) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which can have some key differences to our offering, so for help with transferring ownership of the hosting and domain you will want to reach out to them directly. We have a process in place for changing owneship on WordPress.com sites, but it does not apply to WordPress sites through other providers, who typically have their own process.
Regarding any WooCommerce upgrades on the site, the team over at WooCommerce will be able to help with this directly. The most efficient way to get that started is to go to https://woocommerce.com/contact-us/ and then choose the “I have a question about a specific extension or theme I’d like to purchase” option on that page, thanks!
