change of administrator

  I am trying to register as new administrator on website set up by someone who has given me the password and gone away. I cannot get to add my name to users after accepting invite.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Do you mean that you have the password for the user account of the person who set up the account? Meaning that you can log in as that person or as your own account?

  I have the username and password of the person who set up the account. I can change the administrators name to mine but cannot find a way to alter the email address which defaults to hers.

  You need to transfer ownership of the site from her account to yours. Instructions here:
