Change of Domain glitch
-
So, earlier today I changed my Domain name so it suited my website better.
Little did I know when you google something to do with my site, the old one still comes up first on google so when people go to it, it just says ‘website deleted’.
How can I fix this? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
This is not a glitch or a bug, but simply how search engines work. Google and other search engines indexed your site’s content at a particular address. This process took several weeks, and ever since they’ve updated those indexes every time you published new content on your site.
Now that you’ve changed your site’s address, search engines will first need to re-index all your content at the new address before it will start returning search results referencing the new address. This will again take several weeks.
If you had the old address verified in Google Search Console, they have an option in that tool that you can use to inform them of an address change which can speed this process up a bit.
If not, it can’t hurt to now verify the new address, but apart from that the best thing you can do is regularly publish content at the new address for Google to index, and to be patient.
And after the new address is indexed, the old one might still show up in search results for some time – until Google removes that address from their index, which might not happen at the same time as they add the new address to their index.
