change subdomain to art.blog

    Hello,

    I was sent here from your twitter account which suggested that it was possible for you to help me.

    I’m wanting to change my blog chloexjade.wordpress.com to the domain chloejade.art.blog however it’s proving very difficult to do so as the blog was created before such subdomains became available.

    I’ve already switched blogs so I don’t want to have to create another one just to get the domain (I would also then lose my theme).

    Is it possible for staff to change the site address on my behalf?

    Hi Chloe,

    It’s not possible to change a free WordPress.com address to a free .blog address. .blog addresses can be changed to *.wordpress.com, but not the other way around.

    So if you want to change an existing site to a *.art.blog, the only way to do that is to create a new site with the address you want, and then move everything over to it. But as you’re using a retired theme on your existing site, you won’t be able to use the same theme on the new site, no.
