Change the blog address (Cancel the transfer from a blog to a 2nd account)

  Hi !
  First of all I’d like to tell I’m french, so I hope you will excuse my english. I’ll try to explain my issue the best way I can.

  I wished to modify the address of my blog, but obviously, I didn’t handle it (or made it wrong) and new a blog was created in the place.

  Immediatly after, I created a new user with a new address e-mail and launched the process of transfer, but I realized with a few seconds of delay that it was spliting this blog of (from ? ) the others.

  I’d like to know if the change-over process, that I do not have confirm by e-mail yet, is reversible, and if so, if it is possible to merely change the address of the blog without changing the owner.

  I hope it was clear enough, and thank you in advance for your help.

  2nd one : https://saperlipoppy.wordpress.com/

  It is possible, yes. You are owner of both blogs: peonylotus.wordpress.com and saperlipoppy.wordpress.com. However, it’s not possible to use a blog name that’s already taken.

  Were you trying to rename saperlipoppy.wordpress.com to peonylotus.wordpress.com?

  Once I know for sure, I’ll be happy to offer you some advice.

  Hi, and thank you so much for answering me !

  I was trying to rename peonylotus to saperlipoppy ; so there is nothing left to peonylotus and everything is yet on saperlipoppy, as far as I can see.

  Hi,

  You’re welcome!

  Now that you have created two sites, you won’t be able to rename saperlipoppy.wordpress.com because peonylotus.wordpress.com already exists.

  If you want to use peonylotus.wordpress.com as your site address, you will need to do the following:

  1. Export the content from saperlipoppy.wordpress.com using these instructions:

  Export Your Website’s Content

  2. Import the content into peonylotus.wordpress.com using these instructions:

  Import a Website

  The other option is you rename saperlipoppy.wordpress.com to a similar name to peonylotus.wordpress.com — that would mean you don’t need to transfer content between the two sites.

  It is the opposite situation, I am sorry not to be clear in my explanations.
  I want to use saperlipoppy.wordpress.com as my site address, and I began to import the content frop peonylotus, but I stopped after I created a new user (Poppy) ; I didn’t want this blog to be disjoined from the others.

  I however tried your solution (export the content from saperlipoppy.wordpress.com to peonylotus.wordpress.com back, in order to delete saperlipoppy and try to rename peonylotus after. But it seems that it is impossible : I read : “You cannot transfer to this user”.

  So, I’m asking myself : if I can see saperlipoppy.wordpress.com on my dashboard, does that mean that the new user is not created ? (the name of the author is still Mehitabel)
  I did not confirm the transfer by mail, so I can not tell what is validated and what is not…

  (… I know my explanations are terrible, I’m so, so sorry !!)

  You can manage the site from the account you are logged in to (mehichan), there is no need to create a new user account.

  So, I’m asking myself : if I can see saperlipoppy.wordpress.com on my dashboard, does that mean that the new user is not created ?

  There are two users for saperlipoppy.wordpress.com: mehichan and saperlipoppy. If you login to either of those accounts, you will be able to manage the site. mehichan is listed as the owner and saperlipoppy is an administrator.

  I however tried your solution (export the content from saperlipoppy.wordpress.com to peonylotus.wordpress.com back, in order to delete saperlipoppy and try to rename peonylotus after.

  When a site is deleted, it’s not possible to rename another site to that address. If you were planning to rename the site after deleting another with the same name, that will not work.

  If you want to use saperlipoppy.wordpress.com as your site address, you will need to use the site you have already created.
