Changed HTTP to HTTPS, Can't Login to Admin Portal
-
I changed my site’s primary URL from http:// to https://. I can still access the site at http://whatever.com, but I can’t log in to the admin portal at http://whatever.com/wordpress/wp-admin/, because it constantly redirects to https://whatever.com/wordpress/wp-admin/.
Any idea on how I can revert to http://whatever.com/wordpress/wp-admin/, so I can get back to managing my site?

Hi –
What is the actual site address? On WordPress.com hosted sites we take care of this SSL for you. It sounds like you are using the WordPress installation with a hosting company. If so, you’ll want to post at wordpress.org/support/ for help with that site.

Wait, I’m sorry, I was mistaken. http://foxandcoyote is indeed hosted through WordPress. We’re on the free tier. We purchased the domain name separately, but the site itself is hosted on WordPress.
-
Howdy –
http://foxandcoyote.com/ is not hosted on WordPress.com. Is that the site you need assistance with?

Hi, I am sorry to butt in but I am having the same issue. I posted for help, hopefully, this is fixable :)

alannagracedesigns – I’ll need more details before I can help. What is the site address?
-
Thank you so much! you will have to go slow with me as I am not very tech savvy. My website address is http://www.AlannaGraceDesigns.com. I got my domain elsewhere, but I am hosted through WordPress on the free plan.

alannagracedesigns.com is hosted by GoDaddy.com, not by wordpress.COM.
That site is not hosted by wordpress.COM and as it is not on our servers we cannot help you with it.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
This is wordpress.COM support. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
(1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.
(3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpackHowever, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
See also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/ for app support. -
I registered my domain with GoDaddy, but they don’t host it. I have all of my email confirmations from WordPress.COM. the HttpS:// version wants to go through GO Daddy but the HttP:// version is through WordPress.COM. I hope that makes sense. Thanks!

Hi –
You’re using Jetpack plugin to connect this site to WordPress.com dashboard, but the site itself lis not hosted with us. You’ll want to get in touch with GoDaddy or post at wordpress.org/support/ for further help.
