Changed MX records and blog disappeared

    Hi,

    I had an HTML site hosted on Hostpapa, and then built a new site on WordPress.com. Yesterday, I changed the nameservers to allow my wordpress.com blog to appear at pdm-ent.com instead of the old site. The change took effect and last night I could see the blog at pdm-ent.com.

    This morning, my Google Apps email stopped working so I have entered MX records pointing to Google Mail in edit DNS on WordPress.com and now my site has reverted back to the old HTML version and the blog can’t be seen at either pdm-ent.com or pdmentertainment.wordpress.com. What did I do wrong?

    I still see your WordPress.com blog at http://pdm-ent.com/ so it’s probably still just propagating to your ISP’s various DNS caches.

    When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors”. Unfortunately, we have no control over this as it all depends on how often your internet service provider updates their records. Please rest assured that everything is proceeding normally with your domain.

    You can continue to update your site while your custom domain propagates, by going directly to your Dashboard, here:

    If you still have trouble viewing the site after 72 hours has passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache and cookies:
