Changed my '.wordpress.com' to '.com'-HELP!!!

  I made a blog xyz.wordpress.com.. They offered me ‘xyz.com’ domain for $17 per year. I purchased it. Now it is xyz.com but in admin panel all features are same as they were for .wordpress.com .. like I can’t upload new theme. No plugin Option.. etc ..

  How to fix this problem.. Help please.. I am very upset! :(

  With the domain name/mapping upgrade, the Admin panel will still show yourdomain.wordpress.com, but your visitors only see the domain.

  BUT same rules apply to domains purchased or mapped on WordPress.com because the site is still hosted here. The Support docs are very clear on this point. Please see:

  In order to use plugins or upload other themes, you’ll need to find a webhost and install your own copy of the standalone WordPress software. But please be aware that if you cancel the domain name you purchased here, there is no guarantee that you will be able to re=purchase it again elsewhere. Better to leave the domain here for now and point it to your new host and then transfer it if you desire after the 60 day waiting period that ICANN requires.
