Changed theme, now password protection isn’t working

  Hello! Today I updated to a new free theme however my site is no longer password protected. Initially, in Editor, I noticed Template was set to “Front Page template”, which essentially created two Home pages. I updated Template to “Pages”, and now I only have one homepage which is my original page (which is marked password protected but upon visiting, everyone can load).

  When I view Pages from Dashboard, I see “Protected: Home” and the “Homepage” bubble is part of that section but again, the homepage is loading for everyone without requiring a password.

  I was able to protect individual pages but prior to updating the theme, Homepage was protected and protecting individual pages wasn’t as necessary. Can anyone help?
