Changed themes
-
Hello,
Yesterday I changed the theme of my domain which is thefeelgooddays.com
I really like my new theme, however it is not consistently showing up as a domain, but as a wordpress blog. When I tried to map it to a domain I own, the option won’t allow me (tells me that domain is already taken—of course it is, it is mine).
How can I get my domain working correctly and not just as the wordpress blog?
Thank you,
JessicaThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Jessica,
After looking into your account, I found that you did switch your theme a couple times and ended up with Elegant Grunge. That shouldn’t have any effect on your domain as I am able to find your site at your domain: thefeelgooddays.com. Here’s a screenshot of what I see:
Whenever you are in your Dashboard, it will say thefeelgooddays.wordpress.com/wp-admin/, but note that your readers can only find your site at thefeelgooddays.com.
Please note that the domain: thefeelgooddays.wordpress.com never deletes, which is actually a good thing so if you one day decide not to renew the domain or it expires accidentally all your content will still be available at thefeelgooddays.wordpress.com.
However, as long as you keep your domain renewed, your readers will see your site at thefeelgooddays.com. Even if they go to thefeelgooddays.wordpress.com they will be automatically redirected to thefeelgooddays.com.

Thank you for explaining what happened when I changed themes. One more question–I “added a page” thinking that I could post on it similar to the main posts….I cannot, is there something that I can do to actually add a page with specific posts (in this case recipes)?
Thank you

Hi there,

Yes! What you can create are Category Pages. This allows you to categorize your posts into specific categories. Then, you can create a Custom Menu and insert category pages into your menu, which will allow you to show posts only within a certain category on that respective page.
