changed wordpress url and received 404

    Hi – I am building a site directlawservice.com I was in the SETTINGS GENERAL area and changed the WordPress Address url from https://directlawservice.com/wp to
    https://directlawservice.com – basically removed/wp – when saved I immediately got a 404. Now I can’t get back into my admin area to change it back. Could you please advise how I can access my admin area again so I can add back the /wp? In addition, once fixed, what is the proper way for my site to show up as directlawservice.com and not directlawservice.com/wp ? – thanks daniel

    Hi there,

    You are not using WordPress.com, but the open source WordPress software found on WordPress.org. You can find their instructions for the correct steps to change the site address here:

    https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL

    Please contact your hosting provider for help fixing this if you can’t do it with those instructions, as that means your hosting provider probably have their own process you need to follow.
