Changing Account

    I am trying to change the account to my username alice.gregory – one minute it says the user doesn’t exist and the next it says user it taken. Can you please help me change over to my account – my email address is (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hi there,

    WordPress.com usernames cannot contain spaces, punctuation or special characters, so there’s no way you’ll ever be able to use the username alice.gregory on WordPress.com.

    The username, alicegregory already exists on WordPress.com and belongs to someone else, so you won’t be able to change your account to that username.

    But you can change your public display name to be anything you want it to be – when you publish posts or comment on a site it will then show your display name, rather than your username.
