Changing admin email address

I am trying to change the admin email address under the general settings section. When I save changes, I get a notification that there is a pending change of email. I can’t get past that point. We haven’t received any emails so that we can approve the change

I don’t see any pending email changes for this WordPress.com account, but we also don’t have any email address options under general settings – the only place to change the email for a WordPress.com username account is on the account settings page at https://wordpress.com/me/account/
If you’re speaking of the admin email for a specific site, then you’re working with the stand-alone version of WordPress hosted somewhere else. We’re not able to help with that version of WordPress in these forums.
If you’re not receiving emails from such a site, it’s likely a problem with the SMTP configuration on your server, but the people over in the WordPress.org forums, or your hosting provider’s support, would be better able to advise you on what you need to do in that case:
