Changing administration email address

I am updating our main user for the website as our previous main Administrator no longer works from us. I am looking to change the Administration Email Address and I have requested to do this via the settings page and it states ‘This address is used for admin purposes. If you change this, we will send you an email at your new address to confirm it. The new address will not become active until confirmed.’ However, I have not received an email to confirm this. I have tried to cancel and resend the request many times and still have no luck. Any advice?

Oh, I’m afraid that your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
