Changing author of Contact Us page
-
I need to change the catch-all email address to which comments written to our ‘Contact Us’ page get sent. It seems from the WordPress help that the current recipient email address is that of the original author of the Contact Us page, and is stored somewhere in the background files that I seem unable to access. So, how can I change that destination email to be what I want it to be?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
I need to change the catch-all email address to which comments written to our ‘Contact Us’ page get sent.
See the Notification Preferences section of the Contact Form support page. It says:
When a user submits your contact form, it will be emailed to the author of the post/page (to the email address that they have on file for their WordPress.com account), and the subject line will be the title of your post. If you wish, you can change both the recipient and the email subject of your emails by clicking the “Settings” tab. Separate recipient emails with a comma to send to multiple recipients. You can also change the email address and subject using the shortcode (see below).
Another way to resolve this would be to have the site owner delete the Contact Us page and create a new one.

Hi musicdoc1 – thank you for replying! As a newby to all this I am finding this stuff all rather confusing :-(
yes, from my reading of the wordpress help screens I found out that if I delete the Contact Us page altogether and create another I could change the ‘author’ and thus the recipient of the emails, but surely then that new author would be ‘me’, and it’s not me that needs to receive them. -

That’s fine. You may send them to any valid email address, or multiple addresses, of your choice. As described in the “Notification Preferences” section of the Contact Form support page:
If you wish, you can change both the recipient and the email subject of your emails by clicking the “Settings” tab. Separate recipient emails with a comma to send to multiple recipients.
The “Settings” option referred to here only appears when you are adding the Contact Form. So delete the present form and add new one to get to the “Form Fields” and “Settings” options shown in the image at “Notification Preferences” in the support page.

Btw, the instructions and the image at Notification preferences in the Contact Form support page apply to the “new” page editors at the My Site(s) interface, not the older wp-admin page editors.
