Changing Back to my Free WordPress Account
-
Hi,
I would like to change my wordpress account back to the free version. I thought letting the paid plan lapse and registering a free domain name would do it. After adding the new domain name, the address routs me to an unrelated website.
Appreciate some help to let me know how to change my blog address back to cloudcurator.wordpress.com.
Thank you.
James

Hi there,
The site cloudcurator.wordpress.com is active on your account and it’s currently on the Free plan. Can you please let us know more about what exactly isn’t working for you?

Hi,
Thanks for the quick response. When I try to search for cloudcurator.wordpress.com, it immediately reroutes me to cloudchronicler.net and it goes to an unrelated page. I have already changed the primary address to cloudcurator.wordpress.com so I am puzzled as to why the reroute is happening.
Thank you in advance.

When I try to search for…
Do you mean when searching in Google or other search engines? We have no control over that. If your WordPress.com site used to be at that domain and isn’t any more, it will take time for search engines to re-index your site, especially as it appears your site has been mostly inactive since 2013. Once you start regularly publishing new posts, search engines will start re-indexing it, and your site should start appearing in search results again.
If I type https://cloudcurator.wordpress.com/ directly into my browser, it’s taking me to your free WordPress.com site without redirecting me to any other site. If it’s redirecting you when you try to do that, please try clearing your browser cache.

Hi Sir,
Thanks so much, tried clearing my browser cache and it works now. Apologies, should have thought of that earlier.
Many many thanks and appreciate the really quick response time. :-)
