Changing background
-
Hi all,
How do I change the green background image on my site? As I would like it black.
I have tried going to appearance and uploading a background but doesn’t seem to work?
Thanks

Hi there, first check which option you see under Appearance in your dashboard.
If you see Appearance > Editor:
- Go to Appearance > Editor.
- Open Styles > Colors > Background.
- Choose black, then click Review change / Save.
If the green image is still showing after that, go back to Appearance > Editor > Styles > Background and remove or replace the current background image.
If you see Appearance > Customize instead:
- Go to Appearance > Customize.
- Open Colors & Backgrounds.
- Under Background, choose black.
- Click Save Changes.
These guides have the screenshots for both routes:

If it still doesn’t change after saving, can you share which theme you’re using or a screenshot of the Appearance menu?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
If you see Appearance > Editor:
- Go to Appearance > Editor.
- Open Styles > Colors > Background.
- Choose black, then click Review change / Save.
That doesn’t work, it only changes the background that is already black, not the green part.
I am using the Bedrock theme.
Thanks

Try this route instead:
- Go to Appearance > Editor.
- Click into the site preview so you’re editing the template.
- Open List View. It’s the icon with three horizontal lines near the top left.
- Select the outer Group block that wraps the main content area. It may also be named something like “Section” or “Posts with Sidebar.”
- In the right sidebar, open the Styles tab.
- Look for Background image or Gradient.
- Use the three-dot menu next to that setting and choose Reset, or set the Group block’s background color to black.
- Save the template change.
If you don’t see a Background image or Gradient option on the first Group block, select the next parent Group in List View and check that one too.
