Howdy yourself, lizkarkoski! First of all, I have bookmarked your e-mail answer and it’s references so that I can refer to it from time to time, so that was helpful, very helpful. That being said, however, it seems that I have created a blog under my new e-mail address (email visible only to moderators and staff), for which I cannot remember the password (I know, I know…don’t you wish us newbies would ask questions BEFORE we go stumbling around?!?). In the meantime, I have a place under the following: username: (email visible only to moderators and staff). and site name: Fun129. Thanks for getting back to me. So, as a simple answer, I want to change the e-mail address and the name of the blog. Do I need to completely delete everything and start over. I tried logging in as (email visible only to moderators and staff), but, true to form, can’t remember the password and thus cannot get into it to change the password and I am blocked. As it is, I am answering your question under (email visible only to moderators and staff) as I can still get into THAT one. Can I make the changes here and everything will smooth itself out? Sorry to be so “chatty”, but I wanted to try and be as clear as I can about it. Thanks for your help. bernie

I tried logging in as (email visible only to moderators and staff), but, true to form, can’t remember the password and thus cannot get into it to change the password and I am blocked.
If you don’t remember the password, use the password reset tool:
https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword

Here’s the problem…I, unfortunately, created a new entry with the following e-mail address: (email visible only to moderators and staff). I, however, cannot get into that. My old one, created under (email visible only to moderators and staff) still works. I want to use the new e-mail address of bernie.spina instead of happynews When I try to log in to bernie.spinaI cannot override the password for happynews. I would like to be able to use the (email visible only to moderators and staff) as the e-mail address. Is it simply a matter of changing the e-mail address under happynews, or do I need to completely delete the blog and all the information for happynews and start again as bernie.spina? I hope I am making myself clear on this. Please reply to (email visible only to moderators and staff) as I am in the process of trying to get rid of the other e-mail address. thanks for your help. bernie

Since you have access to the outlook.com email address then you can enter that email into the password reset form (https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword) to recover access to that account. Then you can go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and change the email address to a different one (don’t use one that’s already associated with a WordPress.com account like the comcast.net one). This will free up that email address and you’ll be able to use it on the fun129 account.

Here’s what’s happening. I click on the reset form you entered into on the last reply. I enter the outlook.com e-mail address. I click on the lost password bar and what comes up next is the comcast.net e-mail address and password for that one. When I empty the email address and reenter the outlook address, I get wrong password notification. If I enter the outlook.com address and empty the password entry box the notification says that the password is entry. There is no way I can guess the password for the outlook.com address because just as I finished entering it into the box I was asked a question and it COMPLETELY left my mind. Note to self: before entering any thing WRITE IT DOWN! Sorry to be so lengthy, but everything keeps going to the comcast.net address. Anyway, it seems that the comcast address is interferring with the outlook address and I can’t seem to get past it. Any other suggestions? bernie

PS. Sorry – you may notice that I am responding via the comcast address as this is the only way I can get into the forum. bernie

Hi there,
Our logs show we have sent several password reset and email login link emails to the Outlook address you provided, and those messages were accepted by Outlook.
If you’re receiving those emails at your Comcast address, it’s because Outlook is forwarding them there. But we’re not sending the emails to your Comcast address, and you should be able to find those emails in your Outlook inbox.
Also very important: Before clicking a reset or login link in any of those emails, you must first be logged out of your
fun129WordPress.com account. If you click those links while logged into your account, it will just bring you back to this account instead of taking you to the other account.
