Changing domain from wordpress.com to wordpress.co.uk?

    Hello – our wedding website is down as [ournames].wordpress.com but we’d like to change it to wordpress.co.uk as our wedding invitations have this as the address. Does anyone know how to do this easily? I don’t want to buy a new domain, I just want to switch the end of the address. Is that even possible?

    Hi there,

    Sadly this is not possible, because we do not own the domain wordpress.co.uk, but it is instead owned by a private party. You can confirm that by visiting wordpress.co.uk in your browser, where you will see a landing page the domain owner has put up.

    Because we do not own the domain, we are unable to assist you in redirecting traffic to your WordPress.com site I’m afraid. We have no way to send traffic from
    yoursite.wordpress.co.uk
    to
    yoursite.wordpress.com

    In this case you will need to correct the URL shown on the invitation itself, we do not have a way around it.

    Thanks for the reply! I had thought this might be the case, but it’s always worth asking. Never mind, I’ll just have to get crafty with the invitations. :)
