Changing domain name

  Hi there, my site used to be called ‘thewordembodied.wordpress.com’ then I changed it to ‘alishayvonne.wordpress.com’. However, I’d like to change it back to the first one. But when i go to change it, it won’t let me. I know by entering ‘thewordembodied.wordpress.com’ in a browser, the domain isn’t taken. Would you be able to change it for me?

  Hi there,

  You may not have noticed, but when you change your site address (from thewordembodied.wordpress.com to alishayvonne.wordpress.com for example) we show a message like this asking you to confirm that you are sure that you want to make that change, since it cannot be undone:

  

  That is still the case today I’m afraid. Once you change your site to alishayvonne.wordpress.com it is no longer possible to switch back to the previous address. It is gone forever.

  You are welcome to pick a different address instead, or upgrade and register the custom domain thewordembodied.com, but it is not possible to name your site back to thewordembodied.wordpress.com
