Hi Charlie,
You can make some font and size changes without an upgrade using the tips on this page: http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/styling-individual-posts-and-pages/#changing-the-default-font-size-and-color
That will let you use other common fonts and change the font size within your blog posts.
If you’d like more options, you can choose from a selection of fonts and font sizes (and make those changes to other parts of your blog’s theme, outside the posts themselves) with the Custom Design upgrade, which includes Custom Fonts.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

O.K., so, I went to the link you gave me, and read about <pre style=”font family…etc, but when I went to edit my post, what I see in ‘text’ mode was , then my line of type, then , but no mention of typefaces or sizes….any clues, please? And Thank You!

Hi there,
If there aren’t any mentions of font or font size in your post editor, you can add those in yourself. (Your theme uses some default fonts and sizes, and those won’t appear in your editor the same way.)
To do that, you can add the code to your editor (in text mode) around the text you want to change. So if your post currently looks like this:
Here is a line of text. You can change the font and font size by adding code around it, like this:
<span style="font-family:Georgia; font-size:13px;">Here is a line of text.</span>Just let me know if I can do anything more to help with that.
