Changing header html per page

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi

I set up a text overlay over the header in my child theme, which I wanted for a particular post.

I was wondering if it’s possible to have different overlay text in different posts, and how this is done? Currently the same header overlay text shows on all my pages and posts.

Is it possible to create different header php files for specific pages/posts, or do you have to create a whole bunch over overlay divs in the header.php file, and turn them on and off via page-id in css?

Thanks for your time and help.

This is an empty site https://shaunthomsoncom.wordpress.com/ hosted by WordPress.COM.

This is wordpress.COM support. We cannot answer any questions posted here accurately until we have the relevant URL and have confirmed hosting.

What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the wordpress.COM hosted site you refer to please?

And, exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered that site?

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
    (3) Also, note that we do not provide Jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/ for sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.

OK – it’s a .org account, so I’ll jump over to there.

    Thanks.
