Changing of Expired Domain Name of a Website

  I helped someone developed a wordpress website some months ago but we are now contemplating the possibility of changing the domain name with the domain name used now expired and overdue for renewal.
  How can I make the change and yet retain my previous website contents?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Is the site a WordPress.com site? Or a site using the WordPress.org software on another webhost?
