changing over a current domain to a domain I recently deleted

I had 2 blogs, one under my name and one more anonymous. I wanted to make my primary blog (the one under my name, which had the most traffic) have the anonymous name but keep the content. To do so I deleted the secondary blog so that I could change the web-address of the blog under my name.
A bit after, the deleted blog is gone (yay) but I can’t change the name of my primary blog (it still says it is a taken domain). help? Will this take time to complete? Or did I just mess it all up…

Sorry but yes you did – once a domain name is deleted it is gone forever and not recycled – if you go to your old address it should say “Deleted by Owner”
You will need to find a new name

I’ll try e-mailing wordpress support, and beyond that I can alter it a bit and make it work.

Emailing support will only get you the same answer. You could also consider registering a whatever.wordpress.com URL and then just using a Custom Domain and mapping to get Whatyouwant.com.
