Changing Plan Owner

    Hi there,

    I’m trying to manage the plan for our website https://teachinglatinamericathroughliterature.wordpress.com. However, when I got to manage the plan, I get the warning of This plan was purchased by a different WordPress.com account. To manage this plan, log in to that account or contact the account owner. This is a work-related site that I inherited and I am now the new admin/owner. Is there a way I can switch the site ownership to my account?

    Hi Marleen,

    You are an admin of that site, but the site and premium plan belongs to the user, kephilipp.

    If that person is no longer involved with your organisation, they’ll need to transfer ownership to you as explained here:

    Transfer a Site

    But we cannot do that at your request, as we do not view your organisation as the owner of the site. From our point of view the individual who created the site and bought the upgrade owns it, regardless of on whose behalf they might have done it.
