Changing privacy settings and then putting them back

    What would happen to my followers if I set my blog to private for a while, but later change it back to public? Would all my original followers be there still again and get email notifications & reader feed access again? Or, do you lose all your followers forever when you go from public to private? Thank you!

    Hi there,

    Changing this setting to private won’t remove any followers from your site. People subscribed to email notifications won’t receive emails for any posts published while the site is private, but once you set the site back to public those posts will appear in the Reader along with all other public posts on the site.

    Note that depending on how long you keep the site to private, search engines might have to re-index the site once you set it to public again, but we’re speaking of weeks here, not hours or only a few days.
