Changing Site-URL

    Hi
    All I’m trying to do is change the site URL to redirect from a new URL ‘newurl.wordpress.com’ to the current URL ‘currentlurl.wordpress.com’, leaving the old URL intact.
    I went through a number of the docs, including https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL, but can’t quite figure out just what I need to do.

    Hi,

    Questions:
    1. Is the new URL existent?
    2. If so, then isn’t it the current URL?
    3. Is the “old URL” the same as the “current URL?”

    I’m having trouble following the outline of your proposal. If you change the URL of a WordPress.com site, then you may redirect traffic from the previous URL to the new URL. Unless I’m misunderstanding the proposition, you seem to be asking to do the reverse, redirect traffic from the new URL to the old URL. I don’t think this is possible with the Site Redirect upgrade. However, if you’d like to obtain a more informed and definitive response to your request, you may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.
