Changing the name server: problem
-
I have to change the name server of my provider Strato. It tells me that I cannot change the name server to n1.wordpress.com. It is only possible for subdomains. What must I do?
-
That’s because n1.wordpress.com isn’t a name server. ;)
Per the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ our name servers are:
NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
NS3.WORDPRESS.COM -
Anyway. Even if I use NS1.WORDPRESS.COM the provider tells me that it is only possible for subdomains. For the domain there is no option to change.

Oh, is it volkerhansen.de? If so, we’ll need to add a zone record for you.
I have manually added a zone record for volkerhansen.de.
You should now be able to map it here following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Have you changed your domain’s name servers as detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ ?
-
My registrar is http://www.strato.de.
Under domain administration I find:
A-Record
AAAA-Record
MX-Record
SPF-Record
Dynamic DNS
DNS resetDo I have to change the name server somewhere here?
-
No, the name servers are changed through your domain registrar. I recommend contacting them about this.
