Changing to a custom domain

    Hi, does changing to a premium custom domain ie, mysite.blog, affect the prior search result/ranking of the prior domain ending in mysite.wordpress.com ? Thanks.

    Hi there,

    When you add a custom domain to your site, you still have your default WordPress.com address (example.wordpress.com) — however visitors will see the custom domain in their address bar instead.

    Your default WordPress.com address forwards to your custom domain, which means you won’t lose traffic or rank in search engine results.
